Following the announcement in October that Abbotsbury Road surgery will close at the end of March 2019, all patients registered with the surgery will receive a letter by 11th January 2019 advising them which local practice will be responsible for providing them with primary care services in the future and when the new arrangements will start.

Patients’ new practices will have full access to both their health records and any repeat medication that they currently receive.

Patients’ from Abbotsbury Road will be transferred to their new practice throughout January, February and March and we will be welcoming patients to both Royal Crescent & Preston Road Surgeries.

The Partners and practice team have spent time planning to welcome these patients. A variety of additional resources are being put in place, welcome events are being held for our new patients and opportunities for all patients to access care in new ways will become available through ongoing innovation and collaboration.

Practices are also organising welcome sessions for new patients.  Details of these will be included in the letters.

Anyone who is unable to attend but have questions please contact primary.care@dorsetccg.nhs.uk or call 0333 241 2495.
